IPv4 – IPv6 contextAccording to AFNIC (Registry for the Internet domain names), only 7,8% of IPv4 addresses are still available in the world. The only solution to this problem is : the migration to IPv6. A global test was held on June 8 : IPv6-Day. Google, Facebook, Yahoo, Orange... participated to this test. This experiment was a success. That's why, Eric Besson, Minister of the Digital Economy, has announced, the next day, the acceleration of the IPv6 migration in France. All important structures or based especially the Internet ones should have their own adresses, in order to be independant from their ISPs and have Internet access directly to : Internet eXchange Points.
