Un nouveau site web pour Rezopole
Rezopole association (formerly known as Lyonix) has now its own website Lyonix (http://www.lyonix.net).
You know it, because here ou are !
Rezopole name was choosen to identify the Association and the IX. A communication tool was developped to separe both stuctures.
It is now done with the establishment of this site will better communicate Rezopole actions, especially when they are not directly related to the management of GIX.
Rezopole anime eg telecom industry in Lyon and Rhône-Alpes in organizing professional meetings as Teldej or Aperezo.

Créée en 2001 par une équipe d'ingénieurs réseaux, l'association Lyonix atteint maintenant sa maturité et les services proposés restent uniques à l'échelle de la région. Y-TEST, l'allié incontournable... Y-test permet à tout porteur de projet nécessitant des composantes internet/matériel/logiciel de pouvoir démarrer un test grandeur nature ou POC (pour Proof Of Concept). Ce type de solution proposée gratuitement par l'association Rezopole s'adresse aux:
De plus, cette initiative peut être utilisé par des acteurs de la filière TIC dans le but de développer plus rapidement leurs projets, qu'il s'agisse de faire lever un point de blocage technique ou financier.
FLASH NEWS Après Lyonix : Saintetix Le 2 Avril 2009, était ouvert le premier GIX géré par Rézopole en dehors de Lyon. Les possibilités de peering sont maintenant étendues à la région de Saint-Etienne.

Lyonix à récemment participé à une réunion organisée à Turin par son confrère Top-ix le GIX de Turin (avec lequel Lyonix est interconnecté). Ce partenariat souligne la volonté de Lyonix de continuer à développer les points d'échanges dans l'axe sud européen. Comme le souligne Jean Michel Cornu (dans cet article) les inégalités Nord-Sud sont extrêmement importantes en terme de réseau. A l'échelle mondiale, l'Afrique reste le continent le plus affectée par ce déséquilibre. Ce sont souvent (comme souvent) les plus pauvres qui payent pour les plus riches. En effet l'absence de points d'échange inter-Africain oblige, les africains à utilisée des connexion internet via des satellite hors les coût de ce type de ce connexion est double, l'émetteur paye à la fois pour transmettre des informations mais aussi pour en recevoir. Dans le même temps, les infrastructures au Nord sont très rapidement rentabilisées (grâce à du trafic et à des recettes venant du Sud !). Dans une moindre mesure, on retrouve ce même phénomène au niveau européen. Une immense majorité du trafic du vieux continent est concentré sur 5 villes toutes situées dans le nord de l'Europe. Le Sud n'a que le droit de passer par le nord et de payer ! Les prix de bande passante sont également très différents entre ces villes leader et le reste du territoire. Lyon se situe malheureusement dans la zone Sud et il n'est pas rare de constater des prix allant de 1 (au nord) à 10 (au sud) pour les mêmes capacités. Naturellement les entreprises localisent donc leurs serveurs et leurs ingénieurs au Nord... comportement économiquement logique mais qui ne fait que renforcer la spirale. Pour lutter contre ce phénomène, la création de GIX dans le sud européen est nécessaire. C'est ce qui a été fait avec la mise en place de Lyonix à Lyon. Pour aller plus loin, plusieurs IX (Barcelone, Turin, Milan, Athènes, Bucarest...) vont se rapprocher afin de mettre en place des actions communes, allant pourquoi pas jusqu'à l'interconnexion des IX eux-même ! Lyonix joue ici un rôle de leader. Le projet SE-IX (pour Southern European IX) est en train d'être lancé et vous serez informés de ses avancées très prochainement ! |

Une trentaine de participants concernés par la technologie réseaux et télécom sont venus partager de savoureux cocktails au Lipstick (métro Opéra-Louis Pradel) tout en échangeant des points de vue techniques.
Les TelDej
Organisés la plupart du temps à La Reine Astrid, les TelDej sont des repas organisés par LYONIX et sponsorisés par des entreprises partenaires. Une participation forfaitaire de 15€ est demandée (et une note de frais individuelle est fournie).

Representatives from the IXPs Catnix, Espanix, Lyonix, MIX, Namex and Topix have met today in Barcelona to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the aim of collaborating in enhancing Internet growth in Southern Europe.
Representatives from the IXPs Catnix, Espanix, Lyonix, MIX, Namex and Topix have met today in Barcelona to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the aim of collaborating in enhancing Internet growth in Southern Europe. The signed MoU creates the SEIXP (South European Internet Exchange Points) group whose objective will be to reduce the gap with Northern Europe in terms of exchanged internet traffic in IXPs involved. Their main area of interest will be Southern Europe and also the Mediterranean and the Middle East regions as targets to develop Internet traffic. According to general objectives, its members will develop group activities to foster Internet growth in the areas of interest. First activity will be the issue of a newsletter as a tool to support discussion and cooperation on different technical and business topics, and to create market awareness. The group has also agreed to organize events as a way to create a social networking between IXPs members and enhance cooperation. The group will be managed by a Steering Committee made up of a representative of each IXP member.
About CATNIX CATNIX with its 20 members is the neutral Internet exchange point in Catalonia. After several years of consolidation, CATNIX is now undergoing new and important strategic development, such as increasing its range of value-added services and resources to provide their members with the best facilities for their business, which will definitively put it on the map of similar European infrastructures.
About ESPANIX Espanix is a leading IXP in the southern european region. With some 50 members, more than 120 Gbps of traffic at peak time and top tier facilities it offers an outstanding opportunity for telecom related companies seeking to expand or improve their business. About LYONIX With over 20 members connected on Lyonix, Lyon is the only city with and IX in France outside Paris. REZOPOLE, the non profit organization managing Lyonix is now expanding to other cities in the Region Rhone-Alpes such as Saint-Etienne. Lyonix is already interconnected to TOPIX in Torino (Italy) and will soon have operations in Geneva (Switzerland).
