Rezopole is a non-profit association which has for purpose the improvement of the local Internet network. It helps the region to develop the ICT sector, by setting up Internet infrastructures and related services in order to optimize the speed and reliability of local Internet traffic.
Core activity
Rezopole manages Internet infrastructures called GIX (Global Internet eXchange) in several cities of the Rhône-Alpes region : in Lyon (Lyonix), in Saint-Etienne (Saintetix) and under development in Roanne and Valence.
A GIX or an Internet eXchange Point allows its participants to exchange Internet traffic between their networks based on mutual “ peering “agreements, with no additional cost. Any economic entity can be interconnected by joining Rezopole.
More activities
The association promotes the Telecommunication sector by organizing local business events (such as Aperezo, TelDej, RUG) and provides a number of
basic ICT services (NTP, FTP, DNS ...) but also innovative services (video-conferencing, Telecommunications Information Desk, YTest).
Rezopole is an open association!
If you would like to meet us or contribute to our activities, you can participate to any of our events or weekly meetings. The third meeting of the month (held every third Wednesday each month) focuses on technology issues. Feel free to join us! All you have to do is contact us to find out when and where the meeting will take place.
The Rezopole association is supported by the municipalities (Le Grand Lyon and La Région Rhône-Alpes).
