On June 19th, 2014, Grilog and Grenoble Chamber of commerce and industry organize, in partnership with Rezopole, the 1st Isère Meetings of IT decision makers. Within the Grenoble CCI and during a day, about 200 IT decision makers of the private and public sector can gather and discuss under 4 themes: Suppleness - Information system security - Open-source software - Internet.

By conferences and debates, 18 experts will present. The methods and the techniques interest for companies and public bodies, advice to be followed, the current events and the evolutions to be waited.

The Internet Society has launched a news information and collaboration portal for Internet Exchange Points (IXPs) (http://www.ixptoolkit.org/) and a collaboration IXP Toolkit Report .

The IXP Toolkit Portal (web site) provides resources, data, maps and statistics for the IXP community. The site has also an agenda with international internet events and a blog with industry news.

The IXP Toolkit Report (http://www.internetsociety.org/ixptoolkitguide) is a resource for new IXPs and developing IXPs.  The Internet Society is asking for "feedback" on the Report and Portal.  Please send any updates or improvements on the IXP Toolkit Report to This email address is being protected from spambots. Rezopole's contribution

LyonIX has provided its toolbox on the portal and will also updates all its African IXP development and support training dates that the team runs as a partner for the AXIS project.

Dans le cadre de l'initiative French Tech lancée par la ministre Fleur Pellerin, Grenoble-Alpes Métropole  en association avec le Pays du Grésivaudan, a mis en place une équipe pilotée par Jean-Pierre Verjus afin de déposer sa candidature au label numérique. Le cabinet de conseil Alcimed contribuera également à cette candidature.

Dans cette optique, différents groupes de travail ont été créés :

• programmes accélérateurs de croissance, ce groupe en charge de ce travail, est animé par André Meyer, Eric Pierrel et Daniel Pilaud.
• visibilité et l'attractivité du site dont l'animation a été confiée à Laurent Ponthieu et Philippe Wieczorek.
• cartographie de nos forces dans le domaine numérique, l'animation a été confiée à Brigitte Plateau et Nicolas Berroud, en partenariat avec la société TKM
• communication, groupe piloté par Renaud Cornu-Emieux avec l'appui d'Alcimed et de notre community manager Régis Gautheron.

L'agence de communication digitale Novius, membre de Rezopole, a réalisé une vidéo qui présente les grands chiffres et tendances de l'Internet et des réseaux sociaux pour 2014. The French version of the reference book on peering by William B. Norton is now available for the french community and the Rezopole members. EX Rezopole's communication manager, Irina Trentea, translated the book and team members Samuel Triolet and Arnaud Fenioux have contributed with technical knowledge and feedback in order to make this manual as accurate as possible.

I strongly hope it will help the french community to better understand how the internet works and also contribute to the development of many regional and national IXPs across Africa. In addition to its IXP activities, Rezopole also established many services for the Internet community. Some examples: a FTP server, a conferencing service, a files sharing service ... To ensure the best quality of service, Rezopole implemented the border 6 solution Non Stop Internet to optimize its BGP routes. The border 6 probe can promote certain routes to make them faster and more reliable.

The solution performs tests on the entire network, thereby generating an evaluation of performance and connectivity. The data collected is used to optimize the BGP routing based on delay and packet loss to the test destinations or those most used. Meanwhile, reports are edited on the routing decisions and improvements made, allowing teams to detect failures and lack of performance.

This system improves the quality of hosted services on Rezopole servers using criteria not included in BGP.

Rezopole has set up an alternative filtering method of its members BGP route advertisements on its Route Servers : RPKI + ROA.

This method enables to check that BGP advertisements of interconnected members are correct and that the given prefix matches the AS that sent it.

Filtering on the RIPE data base

“Before using the RPKI + ROA method, we were only filtering using the RIPE objects from the RIPE data base. Thanks to the two implemented methods we can now do a thorough check of routes that we communicate to our members on our main Cisco Route Server” states Arnaud Fenioux, Technical Manager at Rezopole.

Forbes magazine releases this month the list of ten most innovative cities. Grenoble is rankes fourth and is the only French city in this list.

The ranking is done according to «patent intensity», meaning a calculation on number of patents in comparison with the city population. Eindhoven heads the ranking with patents 22.58  for 10 000 inhabitants. With a 6.for3 index  10 000 inhabitants, Grenoble ranks fifth just behind Eindhoven (Netherland), San Diego (United States), San Francisco (United States) et Malmo (Sweden).

For Bref Rhône-Alpes magazine, this recognition is linked to the presence of Commissariat à l'énergie atomique et aux énergies alternative (CEA). This structure is the second patent applicant in France in 2012. A great recognition for the Isère main city.
